Privacy Policy
Yellowstone Wallet browser extension · Effective September 25, 2026
- Your keys are encrypted with your password and stay on your device. We never see them.
- We don't run accounts, collect analytics, track you or sell data. The extension has no Yellowstone server to send anything to.
- The wallet talks to public blockchain nodes and exchanges to show balances and send the transactions you approve. Blockchain transactions are public by nature.
Who we are
Yellowstone Wallet ("the extension", "we") is a self-custody wallet for WAX, EOS/Vaulta, Telos, Proton, Libre and other Antelope blockchains. This policy covers the Chrome extension. Questions go to yellowstoneadmin@gmail.com.
What stays on your device
Everything the wallet saves is kept in your browser's local storage for the extension. None of it is uploaded to us.
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Private keys (the "vault") | To sign transactions you approve. Encrypted with AES-256-GCM using a key derived from your password (PBKDF2, SHA-256). Your password itself is never stored or sent anywhere. |
| Account names and public keys | To show your accounts and balances. |
| Settings | Chosen chain, custom chains, preferred network nodes and their recent response times, display choices. |
| Per-site wallet choice | If you tick "Remember for this site", which wallet that site should use. |
| Connected apps | Sessions with sites you've logged in to, so they can send later signing requests. |
| Pending requests | Signing requests waiting for your review. Kept in session storage and cleared when the browser closes. |
| Last backup date | To remind you to back up. |
Because we don't hold your keys or password, we can't recover them. If you lose your password and backup, your funds can't be restored by us or anyone else.
Removing the extension deletes this data from your browser. Keep a backup first.
What leaves your device, and to whom
A wallet has to talk to the blockchain. The extension connects directly from your browser to these third parties. Each one can see your IP address and the requests you make, under its own privacy policy.
- Public blockchain nodes (for example Greymass, EOS Sweden, EOSphere, EOS USA, Cryptolions, Aloha EOS, EOS Amsterdam, Pink.gg, Telos and Libre nodes, or any node you add). Used to read balances, resources and history, and to broadcast transactions you've approved. They see your public account name and the transactions.
- Alcor Exchange API (
*.alcor.exchange). Used for token prices, markets and swap quotes. It sees which tokens and amounts you're asking about. - Anchor callback service (
cb.anchor.link). When a website asks you to log in or sign, and you approve, the signed answer (your account name, public key, signature and transaction ID) is sent through this relay to that website, because that's how the Anchor protocol these sites use works. - Websites you connect to. When you approve a login or signature, that site receives the same signed answer. Nothing is sent to a site unless you approve it.
Blockchain transactions are public and permanent. Anything you send (amounts, account names, memos) can be seen by anyone and can't be deleted by us.
Fees
Swaps on WAX include a 1% Yellowstone fee, sent in the same transaction to the account fees.ys. Half of every Yellowstone fee paid in WAX goes to staking.ys, the reward pool that pays MINE and LAPIS stakers. The fee is shown in every quote and on the review screen before you sign. Like every blockchain transaction, it's publicly visible.
Access to websites
The extension asks to run on https:// pages so it can catch "Connect wallet" requests from sites that support Anchor. On those pages it only looks for wallet links (esr: and yellowstone:). It doesn't read page content, forms, passwords, cookies or your browsing history, and it doesn't record which sites you visit.
Camera and clipboard
- Camera: used only when you tap to scan a QR code. The image is decoded on your device, and nothing is saved or sent.
- Clipboard: the wallet only writes to it when you tap a copy button. It doesn't read your clipboard.
Backups
When you choose to back up, the wallet creates a file containing your encrypted vault and account list and saves it where you choose. Keep it somewhere safe. We never receive a copy.
What we don't do
- No analytics, advertising, tracking pixels or crash reporting.
- No selling, renting or sharing of your data.
- No use of your data for creditworthiness or lending decisions.
- No data used or transferred for purposes unrelated to the wallet's single purpose.
Our use of information follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Children
The extension isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the extension handles data, we'll update this page and the effective date above before the change ships.
